IIBA Winnipeg is pleased to announce BA Week Workshops!

Nov 1 - Practical Agile Part 1.  1PM to 5 PM CDT

The Badass BA Goes Agile!
Badass Business Analysis Techniques has been the biggest selling workshop in the history of Project Summit, Project World and Business Analysis World. If you’ve hesitated because you’re working on an Agile team, this workshop is for you! We’ve shared 35 analysis techniques in Badass BA Techniques Part 1 and Part 2. We’ll, we’ve been told we have 4 hours to teach as many agile techniques as we can. That sounds like a challenge, so let’s push for 12 … OR MORE!  We’ll focus on techniques that will load up your backlog, communicate vision, understand your customers, facilitate and prioritize. This dynamic, fun and interactive workshop has one goal you’ll learn by doing, yes, even virtually! You will learn and actively practice at least 12 new techniques to help you elicit, analyze, facilitate, and more that you can use immediately on the job.

Nov 2 - Business Process Introduction.  2PM to 5PM CDT

Business has never been simple. Our organizations are a hive of different silos, practices, and cultures, each with their own way of doing things.
This is a problem.
This creates complexity by creating barriers and hurdles, reducing consistency and predictably. So whether things go right or wrong, it’s hard to figure out why. In every organization, each business function is a moving part that has impacts up and down stream. A small change in one place may have a huge impact somewhere else.
This is where business process management (BPM) can be introduced to help ensure organizations are making the most of their valuable resources.
Put simply, business process management is how organizations manage and improve their processes. It involves the strategic analysis of the parts and roles that each process plays in the big picture of the business, with a focus on optimizing processes to remain efficient, effective, and ensure value creating to our up and downstream stakeholders.
In this workshop, we’ll explore some of the foundations of business process management, to start the journey of making our organizations better.

Nov 5 - Lean Six Sigma for BAs and PMs.  2PM to 5PM CDT

If it was easy to improve business and project results, results would always improve. We know in reality, however, that is far from the case. Leaders understand the true power of managing the improvement of critical business results through project teams. That is why they seek to address the most difficult process improvement issues they face through the planning and execution of projects. By extension then, it stands to reason that those involved in those projects, namely Project Managers and Business Analysts, should be trained in a process improvement methodology, and there is no better approach to process improvement than Lean Six Sigma. As a discipline with a focus on process improvement which is driven by key measure improvement, the Lean Six Sigma methodology becomes another arrow in your quiver. Though they may seem completely different, you’ll no doubt see that the disciplines of project management, business analysis, and Lean Six Sigma are, in fact, complementary. Thousands of companies across the world have discovered the far-reaching benefits of learning and adopting the Lean Six Sigma methodology; through the “Lean Six Sigma for BAs and PMs” workshop, you will explore concepts and tools that provide immediate value when applied at all levels of your organization’s projects and operations.
