Business Continuity Planning (BCP) is an emergency planning process that enables an organization to continue providing critical services in the event of a disruption. Understanding what your organization does, how it does it and why. Continuity plans consider the processes, policies and tools employed in the day-to-day operations of your organization, and the risks associated with those. All organizations are vulnerable to the interruption or loss of critical services. The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed this on a global scale.  BCP is planning for the worst, hoping it doesn’t happen, but knowing that if (or when) it does, you are ready.

About Cal Hawley:
Cal is an experienced public sector leader with proven success in technology strategy and management and has over 25 years of experience in conducting and managing business analysis engagements.  He has a passion for driving change and fostering innovation through the effective and intelligent use of technology. Recently retired after 33 years in the Manitoba Civil Service, Cal now provides tailored consulting and advisory services, with a focus on helping clients develop their internal capacity and expertise.
He has also been an active volunteer and advocate for volunteerism in our community.  Over the years, Cal has been a coach, administrator and provincial board member within the amateur sport community in Manitoba.  He has also held leadership roles in various national, regional and provincial sport championships and industry conferences.  He was the Chair for the Institute of Public Administration in Canada’s (IPAC) 2019 national conference – the most successful national conference in recent memory for IPAC.  His current volunteer gig is as one of the founding members of the True Sport Lives Here Manitoba organization.
